Cooking With More Flavor

I have always been someone who loves a little flavor, which is why I thought it might be fun to invest in some professional cooking classes. Instead of sitting around at home, I started working harder to cook with more flavor. When I went to the classes, I worked to create dishes with interesting ingredients and fascinating flavor combinations. Almost overnight, I found myself enjoying my meals a little more and being more interested in healthy cooking. This blog is all about investing time into honing your cooking skills and developing a taste for healthy meals that will help you to maintain your weight.

How To Make Gourmet Sandwiches At Your Child's Halloween Party

If you have a child who wants to have some friends over to your house this year for Halloween, then you may be wondering what kind of menu you should have. If your kid's friends are bringing their parents and siblings as well, then you will have to choose a menu that can feed a lot of people and that won't break the bank. One good idea? Gourmet sandwiches. But how can you make sure your gourmet sandwiches are really gourmet? Read on to learn more.

Gourmet Bread

The first thing that you need to do when you are making gourmet sandwiches for a large group is to find a bread supplier that can hook you up with some gourmet bread. Unlike a grocery store where you buy prepackaged, pre-sliced, sandwich bread, a bread supplier can give you different types of gourmet bread like pumpernickel, sourdough, or even French bread, and then you can take it home and make your sandwiches.

Gourmet Meats

You can make a vegetarian option for people as well, but for everybody else who eats meat, make sure that you get some gourmet lunch meat from a meat supplier. When choosing lunch meat, go with something like turkey or chicken, and then go with something else like ham or even roast beef that people will enjoy eating.

Veggies and Cheeses

To top off your sandwiches, make sure that you invest in a lot of different vegetables, like tomato slices, shredded lettuce, spinach, onions, pickles, and even jalapeƱos. Then, make sure that you don't forget the cheese. Good cheeses for sandwiches typically include cheddar, mozzarella, Swiss, and provolone. Make sure that you get your cheese pre-sliced so that you don't have to spend the solid hour slicing huge blocks of cheese.

Condiments

One way to really make any sandwich taste more gourmet is to dress it up with some condiments, like a spicy mustard, organic mayonnaise, an aioli, or even some organic BBQ sauce. When applying condiments to your sandwiches, make sure that you apply enough that people can taste it but not too much that it makes the sandwich soggy.

The good thing about making gourmet sandwiches is that you can make a bunch of them at once and you can make all different kinds so that you appeal to everybody's taste buds. If you want to really ensure that everybody leaves your Halloween party feeling more than fed, then also pick up some chips, fresh fruit, cookies, and drinks to go along with your gourmet sandwiches.
